Justin’s Story
Recovery All Ways was built on love, loss, hope, and the belief that every life has value. At the heart of that story is Justin Mathew Forrester.
Justin passed away from an accidental overdose on January 12, 2017. His death forever changed the course of a family’s life, but it also became part of the reason Recovery All Ways exists today.
Justin was an incredibly talented artist and tattoo artist with a heart that was bigger than most people ever knew. He loved creating art, making people laugh, and, most of all, he loved his children with everything he had. They were his greatest pride and greatest joy.
He was the kind of person who would literally give you the shirt off his back if he thought it would help you. No matter how little he had, he always found a way to help someone else. He understood struggle because he lived it, and he never stopped caring about people who were hurting.
Like so many, Justin deserved compassion, support, and another chance. His story reminds us that addiction does not define a person’s worth. Behind every substance use disorder is a human being with dreams, talents, family, and people who love them.
Recovery All Ways was founded in his memory and in honor of everyone we have lost too soon. Every meal we serve, every overdose reversal, every syringe safely exchanged, every person we meet without judgment, and every life we touch carries a piece of Justin’s legacy.
His kindness, generosity, creativity, and unwavering love continue to inspire our mission every single day.
Justin’s life mattered. His memory lives on through this work, and we will continue fighting for a world where compassion comes first and every person has the opportunity to survive, recover, and thrive.
