Recovery All Ways Memorial

In Their Memory

This space is dedicated to people we have lost whose lives were impacted by substance use disorder and overdose. Every person remembered here was more than the circumstances of their death. They were family, friends, neighbors, partners, parents, children, coworkers, and people who mattered deeply to someone.

We invite our community to help us remember their names, their faces, and a little of what made them who they were.

They were here. They were loved. They are remembered.

Why We Remember

Remember the whole person.

Stigma can cause people who die from overdose or whose lives were impacted by substance use disorder to be remembered differently than people who die from other causes. We reject that.

No person is defined by a substance they used, a diagnosis they received, the circumstances they lived through, or the way their life ended.

Say their names. Tell their stories. Remember the whole person.

Pat will forever hold space in my heart since elementary school into adult hood he was there for me during some of my hardest times by making me laugh. My favorite ongoing inside joke was his story on how hockey was invented with a turkey as a puck. Forever in my heart and memory

Richard “Ricky” Cummings

Ricky was the life and soul of the family, and the best friend you could ask for. He would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Always up for fun adventures, or jamming on the drums Ricky was pure joy. A loving father, uncle and son there’s no one quite like him. Forever loved and missed.
